About us
We came together out of shared concern about how technology is being used in our children's classrooms.
Tech Intentional Saint Paul began as a series of conversations between parents, educators, and community members at individual schools. What we heard, again and again, was that our concerns about classroom technology weren't isolated.
Today we are a growing network of Saint Paul families and educators. We've connected with similar efforts across the Twin Cities metro and the state, and we are working together to ensure that technology decisions in our schools are made with evidence, intention, and care. We hope you will join us!
When a digital tool is the best way to teach a concept, we support its use. When it isn't, the default should be analog.
Curriculum and technology choices should be grounded in research about how children actually learn — not on assumptions about what's modern or efficient.
Mounting evidence suggests that heavy EdTech use is widening — not closing — achievement gaps. A real commitment to equity means asking hard questions about what's working.
Decisions about classroom technology should be made in students' interests — not driven by vendor marketing or industry trends.
Our guiding question
How do parents, students, teachers, and administrators collaborate to ensure we are making evidence-based decisions about digital technology that are best for students' mental health, social well-being, and academic outcomes?
